The National Intertribal Tax Alliance hosts an annual conference in accordance with NITA fulfilling its mission and commitment to Indian Tax Country.
Annual conferences have been held since NITA’s inception in 1997 with the 1st NITA conference being held in Reno, Nevada in 1999.
Conferences provide a forum for the dissemination of materials that affect Indian Tax Country as well as provide a venue for interaction with other tax professionals, tribal officials, tax commissions and other interested parties from federal, state and tribal governments as well as people in the private sector that are interested or affected by tribal tax issues. The NITA Board works all year on finalizing the conference agenda that provides conference attendees with materials and presenters that cover Indian tax issues that are important and relevant for the year. These may include litigation updates, federal, state and tribal legislative actions, economic development topics and other trending tax matters.
